Front bumpers.

I built my bumper out of 4" square tubing 1/4" wall. It's a 6' length
with standoffs made of the same 4" tubing. I've got a receiver welded in the
center, 2 tow hooks, and a 1996 AMG Hummer brush guard on the front and a rack
with two additional dual bean standard headlights. The thing looks like a
freakin monster! Lot's of attachment points to pull people out, or get myself
out (pictures to come soon!). All tolled the bumper setup is probably about
150-200 lbs. Soon to be added is a custom insert winch from my Ramsey RE8000
worm drive. I haven't hit anything yet, but let me tell you, it's going to hurt
them more than me. This is all on the travelall.

On the scout, I've got the RE8000 on the front and it sticks out a good
1.5 feet, so I'm not worried at all about hitting the radiator.

        Heavy bumpers, hear, hear!

2. Build a huge sturdy bumper that has lots of mass... or maybe a PTO winch
and bumper like Steve Caldwell has which sticks out about 3 feet from the
front of the truck (OK.. so I'm exaggerating... it's more like 2-1/2 feet).
