bad weather

I had a thought on the way home tonight. It is sleeting and freezing
raining here really bad, has been all day, so on the ride home the roads
were icey and sleet, snow, hail covered. I have been driving with the
front hubs locked for a couple of weeks now, because of the frequent bad
weather, and I was wondering if having the hubs locked actually made the
front end handle any better in the sloppy stuff? Does having the two
axle shafts locked together improve the control in slush and stuff?
