speedo police

" Note though, it is some sort of federl offence to open and tamper with a speedo in any way, whether all you did was replace the lens or not, so becarefull or you might have Tom's Smog police, or the IRS or the Speedo police after you."

I suppose I need to go to prison for turning my odometer back to 000000.0 when I bought it. I am going to reset it again when I get the engine swap complete. I think that only matters if you want to resell, and definately if you are a dealer. Plus, what's the difference whether you put in a used speedo that read 12,000 mi or turn it back? It matters on the title for resale purposes. Its against the law to sell a vehicle to someone and lie about the mileage. You can tell them its not correct though, then I think you are covered, especially if you write it into the Bill o' sale. I doubt there are many IH's with original odometer, or not had the thing disconnected.

Besides, The speedo police should be more concerned about him wearing on then tampering with one.
Had to say, couldn't resist any longer.;)
