And, the starter continues to turn the engine after you turn the key 
back to the run position sometimes.

My money is on the very poorly designed solenoid on the starter and I'd 
bet the ignition switch is just fine.   This solenoid could crank the 
engine at any time if the contacts were sufficiently fried.  And on this 
design starter they *could* get that way.  The heat from 10 starts would 
definitely agravate the problem.

Check the starter.
