Tom,
   When you had the core out did you clean out the chamber where the
core resides? On my parts truck this was full of gunk. I'd almost bet
that this would prevent heat from flowing into the cab.
   Do both heater hoses get hot? Have you warmed the truck up and felt
the hoses on both sides of the core and both sides of the valve?
