Bet it won't make a significant difference. Weight is really a factor in
acceleration and deceleration, not so much at cruise. Air resistance is
a bigger factor, especially at cruise. When you pull the top, you're
also going to be altering air resistance - for the worse.

Save for that diesel and let us know how you do it, and how it does.
