I can't tell you how many cats our family lost to car engines when I was a
kid.  We had this big Buick Estate Wagon with the huge radiator fan shroud.
Apparently the cats would crawl up into the fan shroud in front of the fan
and curl up next to the radiator to stay warm at night (after my dad got
home from work).

The next morning...

RRrrrRRRrrrRRRRrrrVROOOOM... crunch, clunk, splat!  Red stained fur would
be seen flying out from under the car and my brother and I knew it was time
for another kitty funeral!

I know... tasteless... but true.
