My rods are too long

    Does any body know why my pushrods are 9.75 instead of  the 9.3 the manual
calls for? my engine is a 345 in a 76 scout 2. Im using a 76 manual but i know my
engine
is not original, could this have somthing to do with it? everything else seems to be
original
size.  I thought mabey my lifters were too short, but the manual dosent say anything
about
different lifter hights. TIA
