I'm pretty sure your vac advance is not the problem. When I had my 65
Corvette, I took of the vac advance and it made virtually no difference. I
suspect you might have a problem with your points, condensor or your carbs
idle circuit. I would check the dwell, and also see if the points are pitted
badly. It should run, although not optimally, without a vac advance.
