OK guys. U-joints tight, driveline properly phased, oil levels OK (although
H2O detected in transfer case), greased in all the right spots.
Hubs locked. T-case in 2x4= no noise

Hubs locked T-case in 4x4 high=big whirrrrrr. Reminiscent of a side horn on a
'48 American LeFrance fire engine.
OK its not that bad, but it IS loud. My theory goes like this. T-case sat on
a shelf at the yard for years with some level of moisture inside. Some rust
on the gear that runs the front along with the water in the oil of the t-case
is causing the noise.
Solution IMHO. Change the oil. Run the thing til it either quits howling or
quits turning. It all seems to work fine, its just louder than I think it
should be. Any thoughts?
