Re: EGR valve
It is an emmissions device that routes exaust gas back into the intake
to be re-burned. When they are new they are fine, but; the port passages
get clogged with carbon and eventually just choke off the air flow
through the intake in the valve. I have seen gas milage mprovments and
better performance when I've blocked these off on older cars. Just use a
new gasket as a template and cut and drill the bolt holes out and
slather it with silicon ad bolt the EGR back down.
