I don't qualify as far as the hard core four wheeling goes, but I'll pass
along what I've heard.

As I understand it, the Weber / Edelbrock Performer / Carter AFB can flood
from very steep nose high attitudes. The reason is that the rear of the side
mounted float bowls are vented to the secondary throttle bore area of the
carb. As the carb is tilted extremely nose high, fuel from the float bowl can
run out through these vents and into the secondaries. I can't tell you
exactly what this angle is. Fuel sloshing would of course make it happen
earlier than a static test. But I've heard these are pretty steep angles
before a problem occurs.
But now that I think about it, I suppose that an extreme side angle would also
cause the higher float bowl to leak fuel through it's vent into the
secondaries also.
Fuel injection is by far the best setup for *extreme* angles.
