Re: Blowing oil

Mitch,
When I installed a 196 to replace my 152, I noticed the same
thing, but at first attributed it to having a little overfill
past the Full mark on the dipstick. After more research, I
discovered that the vent on the valve cover had the original
flame arrestor and I'd also put on a PCV vale inline, too. This
was causing too much backpressure, and that was the reason for
my various slow leaks on a motor with fresh gaskets all around.
I took out the PCV and so far so good. Could you have a clogged
PCV?
