Wet road drinving comments sought please

Mark,
I have a Mazda pickup as well. It is my daily driver, fast approaching
180k. It is an '84. In the winter, I usually just put some concrete
blocks in the back, something like 9 or 11, whatever will fit inbetween
the fenders. This gives me ~200 pounds (+/- a few), and I haven't ever
had any problems *on* road in the snow. In a field, however, don't try
it.:) Speedo at 35mph+ and you are crawling is a bit worrisome, even with
another truck that is 4wd right there.... <grin> As long as you take it
easy, you shouldn't have too many problems. As for turning corners when
it is wet, just don't peg the gas before you get straightened up.<bigger
grin> BTDT! How good are the tires?? Tires make a world of difference.

I don't know how the Scout will perform in the snow, as mine has not been
on the road since I got it. I hope to be able to find out this winter
though. We get a *little* more snow here in W.L. than you do down in
Southern IN, but if it is anything like last year, you shouldn't have a
problem. I doubt it will be, though. Good luck.

Dan
