A day in the Pinelands

Hello,

I've made it back home after a "quick" day trip to the Pinelands.
Not without a great deal of assistance though. Heck of a way to test
that carb rebuild. 609 miles, 1 radiator, and 1 shroud later I'm pretty
happy with the carb rebuild :) The day started at 3am to make breakfast
in NJ at 8am (ok, 8:30 it just wouldn't be a trip to NJ if I didn't get
lost) followed by some off roading in New Jersey's now infamous
Pinelands. Great time trail riding and running through mud holes. Sandy
trails through pine forest and a large open "sand pit" area. Here I
managed to unearth a large block of concrete and suspend the Scout atop
it. In the process the fan was tilted enough to take a small but
significant slice through one of the tubes in the radiator and chew the
shroud. :( Easy enough to fix but ~4 hrs from home. Rigged for limited
running an all out search for a radiator ensued. Dan of cookie and ugly
truck fame ended up loaning me a serviceable radiator and shroud from
his collection of parts. Definitely have to start my own collection of
parts/trucks as these are very useful. My sincere thanks to everyone for
their help and support and my apologies for cutting short a great day
for running the trucks. Looking forward to Dan's postings about the trip
on his page.
