Mr. Harais is just jealous that you're single and free and living in
"God's" country with little to no encumberances. While you can just go home
and mess with your Scout and drive a measly half hour out into the woods to
go wheeling, I would have to drive a minimum of two hours just to find a
dirt, forest service road.

For my weekend I get to spend it working in my yard, catching up on unpaid
bills and other "home office work"; putting away firewood for the winter;
trying to make my new-to-me motorhome comply with silly state emissions
regs; rearranging furniture; going through clothes that need to go to Good
Will. Oh yeay, did I tell you I've got four or five hourse of figuring out
my personal finances so I can tell if I can ever afford to get my Traveler
rebuilt the way I planned?

Jealousy and envy are so ugly!

I'm not so lucky as you as to have spare axles. But, I would hazard a guess
that your best bet is to thoughroly clean it up, removing all grease, cat
hair and weed seeds. Then, wipe it down with WD-40 or some such lubricant
that will also prevent it from rusting and store it in a box or bag so that
the coating will not wipe off on the interior of your Scout. It will be
clean and ready for greasing and installatiion should that arise while your
out there 'Scout'n" around the vast wilderness that is Montana.

Lucky dog. I drove my Traveler for the first time since returning from NWBR
last night. I had to take it to the DMV to show them my new Traveler top
and have them take the wheight fees off they imposed when it was a Terra.
Got me to thinking about all the things I haven't done, like put in the
rest of the bolts that hold the top on; clean off the WA mildew; Make the
tailgate fit and latch; replace the fuel filters that gave me so much
trouble up there at the NWBR. 

Sheesh! Where will I ever get the time/money/drive to do these things?
