Dan's Master cylinder
I'm not going to wade into that silicone/regular morass.
However, when I replaced my 70's m/c, I orginally got the
identical looking unit from Raybestos (new). While hand-
bleeding it, fluid started pouring out the rear seal.
So I took it back. They then gave me a Wagner (same price).
It "seems" much nicer-- the biggest thing was that it had
a bolt hold-down on the cap instead of the snap down type.
I am forever frustrated by the fluid seeping out around the caps
of the snap-down type.
Of course, you need to keep a small wrench around
to check your fluid level, but I wouldn't think it was a
big deal in this group. Can't figure out why they didn't
use a big wing nut.
Anybody else have any better qualitative assesment of
Wagner vs. Raybestos (and others) brake parts?
