Re: ATF Treatment

Tom:

When water injection was first becoming popular in the mid '70s due to
gasoline going without lead and lots of high compression engines (my '69
Z/28 came stock from Chevrolet with 11:1 forged aluminum pistons and 12.5:1
were available to racers - but there was lots of cam overlap which makes a
difference) still on the road, one of the benefits of water injection was
said to be the "steam cleaning effect". It supposedly removed carbon
deposits from the cylinders along with it's "cooling the intake charge -
prevent detonation" function.
