Painting a Scout

Hi everbody,  I have a forest green scout that I painter with an acrylic 
enamal base.  I want to repaint it the exact same color except with a 
base coat/clearcout.  I will do little body work.  I am asking if I 
could get by with one gallon of paint since it is the same color. Am I 
an idiot?
