Events
Folks,
I've a philosophical question about the events y'all are attending. I'm
wondering if anyone puts out any land use/closure information, tries to
solicit donations, hold raffles for legal fights against the closures? I
realize that most of these events are not 4x4 speciic and you might offend
a sierra clubber who might drive a travelall or whatever, but it seems to
me that these same issues, driven by the same folks, tend to cross over
between all of the motorized enthusiasts and cause all of us from low rider
to mud bogger the same type of problems. These events seem to me to be a
logical place to educate the enthusiast and bolster the legal fund at the
same time, but it seems that most of the event organizers are reluctant to
allow "bad news". At SWFWDA quarterly meetings we actively try to raise
legal fund money, but that's a 4x4 specific event.
Anyway, I'ld like some feedback as to appropriateness and if it is done,
what have you seen that's been effective? My club is going to have a booth
at an upcoming mud bog event and I'm wondering how much effort I ought to
put into the closure aspect of it.
Thanks
terry
