Auto Tranny Temp Gauge and a poor man's heat shield for the wiring
IH all,
I added a mechanical temp sender to my auto tranny pan, and it is
working great so far. The tubing that runs from the sender to the gauge
was running too close to the exhaust pipe for my tastes (about a 2 inch
space) so I was thinking I would like to put a heat shield around the
tubing. I got to thinking, and <flash> the bulb went off. I took some
1/4" split loom wiring(any size will work) and folded heavy duty
aluminum foil around it and slipped the foil into the slit. If you do
it carfully, it looks great. I just might look into where else I can
use this trick. Just my $0.02 worth today.
