Do the rebuild, it's cheap and easy. A disc/drum master cylinder makes
very different pressures front and rear. A drum/drum mc uses the same
pressure front and rear. I'd have to doubt that a proportioning valve
could "take out" all the difference between drum and disc. It's just a
matter of design engineeering and the laws of physics.
