Ancestral vehicles, IH products, etc.

I am not fortunate enough to own any of my family's original IH's, but I DO
remember them...it is those memories that played the biggest part in my
eventual plunge into the deepest recesses of IH'dom....I remember my
father's 1970 IH pickup (1210) which had a 5 speed, but I believe the most
important moment was when I was 8 years old, and my Uncle came driving
around the corner into our yard with the FIRST true SSII model ever sold in
Ontario, Canada. It was a demonstrator that originally made its debut at a
Truck show...My Uncle was a sales rep for International at the time, and
decided to buy it when the show was finished....I remember going for a ride
in it with the top and doors off, and being a little bit frightened (of
course, seatbelts at the time were still a bit "GAUCHE"...things have
CHANGED big time!!!) about falling out...

As for the thread about IH ownership, I can say that I am fascinated by ALL
their vehicle products. St. Catharines Ontario was a very strong IH
community, and continues to be that way today. Even old loadstars catch my
eyes as I am driving around...I could not be any prouder of my Scouts AND
my Travelall. Each has their unique, endearing qualities which continue to
tug at my heart (sob sob sob....)
