I can attest to 345 crank cracking. My 345 in my 79 had spun a bearing
under the previous owner. He polished up the crank surface and put in a
new bearing but advised me to have it rebuilt before long. Well, 6
months later it wouldn't run. So, off to my , when I can't possible fix
what is wrong with it , mechanic. He installed a Jasper built 345. When
he pulled the old engine out the crank was split in two!
