Brad,

The tailpipes on a Scout run just inside the frame rails to just aft of 
the front mounting of the rear leaf spring.  At this point they cross 
between the frame and the spring and to over the axle *outside* of the 
frame.  Then on to near the rear bumper.  Yours are probably 
aftermarket.  I've never seen a mfr end the pipe in front of the rear 
wheels, behind, yes... in front, no.
