It's just *VERY* touchy.. if I want anything other than LEAD MELTING HOT, 
I have my selctor all the way to the left.  I then work it just a hair 
towards "hot".

Typically, on a road trip, I'll have the fan OFF, and just adjust the 
HEAT control.  VERY little movements.  And again, it doesn't move.. 1/2"? 
from the COLD side.
