Move to Minnesota. I thought you lived in New York or New Jersey
somewhere, isn't it cold enough there for you to appreciate the heat.
Sounds like your hot water cutoff valve isn't working. You need to check
that it is turning off, and that the cable isn't just slipping back and
forth when the clamp at the valve is supposed to be holding it immovable
while the inner wire turns the valve off and on. Do you have vents on
each side that open to let fresh air in. My SSII didn't, but my other
Scouts do and they let in lots of air. I converted my SSII to have vents,
but I don't remember what was involved.

With great difficulty. When I was dirt poor, I used to put a jack between
the bead and the frame of the Scout and break the bead. Lot's of work. JC
Whitney and others sell bead breakers, but they don't work as neat as the
air powered ones at your tire store. After the bead is broken you use
tools made from old springs and stuff like that to pry the tire up over
the rim. (not easy either, but not as hard as breaking that bead)
