Sugar & combustion
While thumbing through one of those "Don't Get Mad, Get Even" type books in
a truck stop a while back, I read about how Karo syrup was the engine
glommer of choice for environmental zealots out to stop large earth moving
equipment and whatnot. It seems the large amounts of carbon left behind by
burning glucose do incredible damage to diesel engine rings and valves in
no time at all.
It also said that straight sugar does not dissolve very well in diesel fuel
or gasoline, but I wouldn't take any chances!
