Re: Tom's lift

Tom,

Well by now I know you worked it out OK. I had thought of unloaded springs
needing to be bent into position, but then thought "Naaa". Oh well.

Here's my $.02 - tighten the shackle bolts so they are just snug - you
should
still able to spin the bolt easily - and then add a nylock jam nut. The
1st nut
alone doesn't have enough torque on it to stay put. This allows the
springs
to move back & forth and sideways. This gives better articulation,
probably
at the expense of on-road handling & tire life.

Regardless, the springs will soften up pretty quickly, about 2 weeks,
depending
on usage.

Bob,
How do your front shackles sit?
My front shackle is angled steeply rearward, and is rubbing against the
pitman arm when I turn right..
My ride is also very rough and "bouncy".. almost like there's no shocks.
I'm also QUITE nose high.. in appearance, anyhow.. measurements tell me I'm
really no higher up front than the rear.. but still, it *looks* nose high.
Thanks!
-Tom (24hrs to install the lift.. *ugh*.. I *hate* sleeved bushings!)
