Re[2]: Water pumps revisited,
John,
3%! Humidity can make a 3% difference! 3% on 12 mpg is only .36
MPG! Really, how are arriving at this number? 1000 miles and
how much gas compared to a year ago? Properly inflated tires,
changing spark plug heat ranges for weather and new air filters
can make more than 3%.
Sorry for the sound of this, but I can't believe that 3% is
important. Wind blowing behind you, or adjusting the time you
drive (day/vs/night) can make 3%. Just sounds too small to
matter.

While your mileage may vary, I've recorded an average fuel economy increase
of about 3 percent since installing a thermostatically controlled fan
clutch over a year ago.
