What engines will fit?

Hi all!
I was just wondering how easily a Chevy I6 could be put in an 80/800? I
know someone who has an I6 out of a 69(or 67, I can't remember) Camaro. I
know he would probably sell it cheap. My '64 still has the tranny/T/C,
and the engine block, but I don't know that the block is worth trying to
rebuild. A lot of the parts on the block are pretty much trashed, so it
would be a major project to try to rebuild. So I guess I am asking if the
Dana 27's under the truck will be able to handle the extra weight? This
Scout will be primarily used as just something to go out and mess around
in, probably to go and cut wood and chase the occasional coyote.:)
Another thing, how much messing around will I have to do to get the engine
to bolt up to the tranny?
I would really like to find a 196 and put it in the '66, and then put the
152 in the '64, but I am not sure if I can find one that runs or is
rebuildable or not. If I do/can find one, will it bolt up to the tranny
that is in the '66?
The '66 has a 3 speed tranny. I am not sure about the '64, as I could
only find 3 gears of any sort the other night (don't know if they were all
forward or if one was a reverse gear).
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated and welcome.
Much thanks in advance.
