Air Conditioning Question

Kevin,
It's to make a recovery system using an old compressor. You could use
either an AC powered unit from an old frig or freezer of if you have one
of those fancy onboard units converted to an air compressor. You'll also
need a refrigeration service manifold and hoses and a empty cylinder
(20lb freon or equivelent).
To use you'll need to hookup 1/4" flair fittings to the in and out on
your compressor. Use your compressor to pull a vacuum on the cylinder
for 30 min. Then reverse the connections to place the suction side of
your compressor to the suction side of the vehicles A/C and the pressure
side to the evacuated cylinder. Turn on the compressor to draw the freon
out of the A/C into the cylinder. I used a similar system to recycle
freon 14 (special stuff that costs big $$$). Also be sure to purge our
lines with a little of the freon in the system to prevent contamination
with air.
