Maps

There are several sources of good maps available, Sidekick offers some good
ones for California and Baja, maybe else where too, DeLorme has some, the
USGS topo maps generally show some roads and trails, USFS maps do as well
although they and the BLM have been known to miss a lot of roads or to
leave out roads that the ecojihad wants removed so an area can becom
wilderness. Also many small tourist towns (like Silverton Colo, or Red
River NM) have very crude maps that the local chamber of commerce makes up
and hand out to visitors, they often show jeep trails and the like if the
town is 4 wheeler friendly. Another resource is to contact a club in the
area of interest and see what they use and where they go.
