Shop Manuals and Postings

IH all,

I just wanted to pass on a trick that I've found very useful. When I
got my shop manual for the Scout, I separated it into 4 different 1" 3
ring binders (no pun intended, well maybe <bg>). One for engine and
transmission, one for body and cab, frames, axles etc, one for
electrical and their components, and one for archives (if you have the
v-8, put the 6 cylinder and 4 cylinder stuff in here) for the stuff that
isn't applicable to my scout but I don't want to get rid of. Labels can
be done up on any computer for a index. When someone like Owen posts a
dissertation on rebuilding a oil pump, print it out, 3 hole punch it and
put it with the Engine Binder for the next rebuild. Howard gets his hub
explanation put in with the axles stuff, and you can go through the FAQ
and apply this so you have it out with you in the garage 3 years from
now when you might need it. With the FAQ being broken down along the
lines of the Service Manual this makes it real easy. Sort of like after
market technical bulletins for you shop manual.

I just thought I would pass that along.
