Just about worthless, isn't it? When you look at the ultra-puny
short-duty-cycle ARB compressors.. ugh.

Uh oh.. Darrel.. it seems your treading on *my* turf now! :)

I actually asked this question some time ago.. about the same time I was
asking about having two compressors (A/C and Air), two alternators
(double the juice) and at least one power steering pump (optional second
pump for.. Milemarker winch, or Hyrdroboost brakes?) Yeah, they thought
I was nuts.. :)

Hmm.. John mentions having to take a break during his air compressor
useage.. if you figure out how to mount an A/C and Air on your Scout..
maybe I'll put *TWO* converted air compressors on my '77 196.. then I'll
have all the CFM I could want.. :-) (yes, I'm half serious about this!)

I had thought of using the A.I.R. brackets for smog-equipped Scouts as a
basis for some new bracketry, but I think the AIR mount is even smaller
than an alternator.. (now that I remembered and re-read the "Delcotron to
cheap-o welder" how-to, I might have to find *three* alternator brackets
and a place to put 'em.. )

Good question. I was poking around at Walmart yesterday.. no pressure
switches, though they did have the various fittings (barbs and quick
releases and the threaded NPT stuff), hoses, safety valve, oiler, and a
few other items.

harborfreight.com might be another place to look.. I don't think I saw
any pressure switches on their site though.. Did see lots of air tools.

Re: Durabak

Do they recommend NOT re-using the spray gun? Did I hear that somewhere?
(or was that POR?) I recall someone mentioning buying every air spray
gun they could get at a yardsale..

Tomorrow my '77 196 gets a new alternator bracket.. no more cinching the
belts to keep the alt in place!
