Galvinization

IH light trucks had as much or more galvinization than anybody up thru '68. Don't know about scouts.

And, like anybody else who tried it, it made so little difference it wasn't worth it. If you start with galvanized sheet metal (unlike today's dips), everywhere you weld you ruin the protection. So all the spot weld areas are gonna rust the same as ever. And guess what? That's exactly where the paint protection is also the worst.

So the seams rusted to hell at about the same rate as ever. All it really accomplished was to brighten up the junkyards, as the wider expanses of sheet metal still looked pretty good long after the vehicle was junked.
