Anodizing and my 'Hammerite' experiment.
Heya folks....Art here...
Here's a followup to the great baked-hammerite experiment -namely,
baking it onto my master cylinder housing; hoping for a life-long finish
well...isn't working out "perfectly".
It started to seep (big surprize?) out the front lip and 'zip' has ate
and otherwise formed a tunnel right under the paint. So, it seems, not
even baked on hamemrite paint will beat brake fluid. Otherwise is ok.
Pulling the grill, headlight and signal rings off of the T'all this
coming week. Don't know why this didn't occur to me years ago -but,
since they're aluminum, it's about time they get re-anodized. Color
choices are tough: orange, blue, blu-green, green, lime, red, black,
gold, purple or...?...
Since the truck is Mediteranian blue w/ a cream top (and interior,
black wrinkle paint on the dash etc.), I'm thinking Gold will do nicely.
That or black.
ANY IDEAS here? -Not going in til Weds/ Thurs.
-Listening intently for the 'rechroming' feedback too....
