Re: Didja' ever...

Dear sirs and madams,

Please go easy on the parts counter folks. I work at a Case-IH construction
equipment dealer, and we get some real winners. Here in Tennessee, some
farmers are still using old IHC Farmalls and Case VAC tractors from the '40s
for regular farming!! Then they come to my parts counter expecting us to
have that little poppet or widget or thing-a-ma-bob 'back there behind the
counter'!!! It can be a little exasperating.
Truthfully, I have been lucky here in Northeast Tennessee because most of
the parts people I deal with still remember when Scout IIs were new on the
road. Even though I've got one of the only Scouts left in town, no one looks
at me too funny when I ask for parts. My '78 Toyota, however, gets an
entirely different reaction...
If you can provide the counter folks with part numbers, the actual parts or
at least as much information as you've got, things tend to go easier all
around. If the parts person still doesn't seem too interested in helping
you, go to someone else next time.

Thanks,
Denni

P.S. If anyone is interested, I've gotten Fleetguard filters for my Scout
II (V304) and can send you the part numbers (or the parts if you can't get
them any closer by) if you'd like to use Fleetguard too. Fleetguard is the
OEM for Cummins and Case filters, after all!
