Parts shopping, etc.

Doing Jobber suppply to your local repair shops. The people that do it for

I'm feeling lucky....amazingly, even the youngsters at the local parts 
places(even Kragen)know how to look up parts for IH's. I also don't get the 
'Binder flinch' that John describes so well, but I've never been able to 
figure out if that ain't just 'cause I'm ugly and mean lookin';). Heck, the 
guys at NAPA usually turn the book around while pointing at their listing 
and asking 'that the one you want?'. It's kind of fun to see the 'kid' at 
NAPA spot me walk up, he turns to the rack of hard copy and doesn't even 
make a move for the computer....smart guy, too, he'll dog something 'til 
it's found.

Funny thing is, I wouldn't even set foot in this NAPA for a long time after 
a little run-in with the previous owner(I was not alone by a long shot). 
Then Vern, my old time parts guy at Big A retired, and I was adrift for a 
couple of years 'til the NAPA got bought by a real nice family. Vern was 
the kind of guy who often wouldn't even look in the book, and hated to see 
you spend a nickel more than you had to. A direct quote "now why would you 
want to buy a new or rebuilt master cylinder for that? The kit's only $7, 
and there's plenty of iron in there..."

Is that what that big gray metal box on my workbench is? Damn, I better put 
that back in the '64 T-all before winter ;)
