I done bad

Hey folks,

I was hauling some wood I cut out of the forest in my 6s Scout 80.
There's this really steep part I needed to negotiate. With the back
of the Scout filled with wood, I threw it into 4L, got up a good
head of steam, and started up the steep part. I had done this same
maneuver before with no problems, but this time, I seemed to be making
less progress (I guess cuz the road was wet from a recent rain)
so I leaned a little more heavily on the throttle.
Big mistake. The Scout started to buck, and while I was letting off
the gas, putting in the clutch, and hitting the brake, I heard a BANG
and then a BANG (metal on metal kind of BANG), in quick succession,
and the engine stalled. I backed down the hill, horrified.

Right now, the Scout is trapped between a big pile of logs, cut and
otherwise, and the steep part. I can go forwards and reverse, but
every so often, there is this clunk clunk sound. Very ominous. I'm
not exactly sure where the noise is coming from, but it doesn't sound
good.

Did I screw something up bad?
