Paul,

   Are you sure the Scout is a 1980? All '80 Scout Nissan Diesel engines were
turbocharged. If the naturally-aspirated engine was substituted for the
turbo'd engine it probably would not pass a smog inspection, if that applies
in the area where you live. I think it would be acceptable to use a turbo
engine in place of a N-A, but not the other way around. Do you know if the
headlights are round, or rectangular? All '80 models have rectangle
headlights.
