Ron,

The cap and rotor are expensive.  Even if you get them wholesale, they will run $60 / $30 or more.  If you check the production date, yours may have been on there for 6-8 years, so the good news is that the DO last awhile.  You can count on issues like that from time to time, and thus a maintenance bill of $1000+ per year, but in the opinion of most of us here, it's a reasonable price to pay for the driving pleasure, and NO car payments!!!
