RE: M42 water pump
When the pump bearings failed what did they do?
Reason being ..something on my M42 is making a ticking noise up
front. The engine is fairly buzzy as it is, but this has the
sound of a roller bearing with a notch in it....I was thinking it
was the AC pulley though.
Second question...can you replace AC pulleys easily?

Yes, replace it. Even the metal impeller pumps have a limited
life.
My plastic impeller pump on my 93 325is failed at about 90k miles
due to the BEARINGS failing, not the impeller...
