Oil Filters

I plan on changing the oil for the first time sine I've owned my 99
528iT and I see that I can get a Mann Long Life filter for about $8 or a
Bosch filter for about $13.  Does anyone have any recommendations pro or
con for these filters?  Is the Bosch really better?  Do I need to
replace any drain plug seals on this car?
