RE: hard top for e30 ic

I agree that there's some confusion. I interpreted (it seems incorrectly)
that he wanted to cut off the top of his e30. I now see after reading it
more thoroughly that he wants to do use a top that has been cut off an e30
sedan and somehow put it onto his convertible.

I guess there's a misunderstanding of the original question. Is he looking
to find a hard top for his convertible, or does he want to make the
convertible into a permanent hardtop car because the convertible is a
stiffer structure?

I responded to the former case, while you're implying that he's asking about

the latter case.

I think the E30 M3 demonstrated that the non-convertible E30 structure was
solid enough to allow it to trounce the competition for several years, so I
don't understand why anyone would want to make a convertible into a hardtop
for purposes of having a stiffer body structure.
