Re: Wiper Blades

Did some more checking. E36 cars do not have this problem. They use
the more or less standard way to attach a blade to the arm. And for
these cars you have lots of choices, including things like winter
blades.

E39's do not use the standard connection between the arm and blade.
It has a different kind of locking mechanism that is BWM specific.
Further, it doesn't use the standard rubber refills either, so even
if you want to keep the wiper blade, you can't just pick up refills
at your local NAPA.

It isn't a big deal, but I see several disadvantages to being forced
to use only OE parts:
	- You might not be near a dealer when you want the part
	- Dealer parts hours not as good as WallyMart, for example
	- poorer choice, as in no winter blades, 3x edge, or teflon
	- harder to change refills rather than the whole blade
	- Cost ($12 for the refill vs. $8 for AANCO winter blade)

I hate blades that streak. The OE ones seem to me to be prone to
this, as even new ones aren't perfect. So when some one comes on
line with an improved E39 blade, sign me up.
