Rear View Mirror

When I was in my rollover, the rearview (inside) mirror popped off. How
do I reattach it? I have tried brute pushing it onto the arm, with no
luck. Is there a trick to it? I have an 87 325 with the check panel. I
have a feeling that I am just missing something obvious. Any insight is
helpful. Thanks! :)
