It's most likely a sticky Idle air control valve or ICV.. I dont know where
that would be located on an 89.. , but here is a pic of the ICV on an 85
which also has the M30 in it.. Mine did the same thing jumping idle.. Take
it off, clean it with carb cleaner, and a thin brush to remove the deposits,
then reinstall it. If that solves the problem.. look into getting a new one
soon..
