RE: sputtering '92 325i
Misfiring during acceleration is indicitive of an ignition HT failure,
either plug insulation breakdown, coil breaking down internally, or failed
external insulation (rubber boot on coil-on-plug types). The breakdown
voltage requirement is highest with a high pressure (throttle wide open, max
volumetric efficiency, i.e. hard accel) cool mixture.
