As far as I know, all BMW differentials have a tag on
them.  I would guess that you would be looking for a
tag that reads either "S338" or "338S".  The numbers
are the ratio and the presence of the "S" signifies
that it is a limited slip, which you certainly want if
you are chasing performance.

probably tell you, but I can't.
